build a 300 blackout .have a black barrel 20 in long.best lenght of barrel for shooting 150 grain nonsuppress.also on drilling barrel for gas block, best size hole>? would a pistol type gas tube work or carbine length?thanks
With the case capacity of 300BLK, I don't see how 20" barrel is more efficient than 16". As far as port location, for shooting supers carbine works well, for subs pistol location, allows more flexibility. Port size depends largely on port location and intended use.
Why the 150s? Unless using cast, 110-130gr gives best balance of energy and trajectory, for hunting, with supers.
