I just found out today that member grmeicher (Gerry Meicher) passed away, at 77 years of age, on February 9th. I met Gerry on this site and later in person. We became friends and talked on the phone and I visited his house 3 or 4 times. We swapped jokes and stories on the net. I had not heard from him in some time. Yesterday my e-mails were returned undeliverable. I did a search of obituaries in his area and found that he had passed.

Gerry was a very personable fellow and loved to show me his Varmint rifles and targets. It was unfortunate that his health did not permit him to go afield any longer.

I ended up buying his Honda 4 wheeler a couple of years ago and also bought some reloading stuff from him including an antique Deitemeyer shotshell press. I don't know who was happier, me to get it, or Gerry to see that it would be used again. Though our friendship was brief it was much appreciated by me.

May He Rest in Peace. RD

RD this isn't pleasant news but it is appreciated.

This is a loss to the shooting, reloading and outdoor world. Gerry and I share many email chats and jokes. I purchased a B&M powder measure from him at a very fair price. I wondered what had happen.

Good people are hard to loose. He seemed like a really nice person. One that fit well with this group.
I had just a little interaction with him through posts here, but got the feeling he was definitely one of the good ones.
May he rest in peace and may his actions of goodness stay in our hearts.

It seems to me, as I visit various shooting or reloading sites that the active members are getting older, by average. It could be an error, but I think not. So we may well see more and more of us going as the days and weeks go by.

Gerry is gone but not forgotten.
