I just received my Savage #12 back from SharpShooter Supply in Ohio. They are Savage specialists. I had them line up my action and install their Evolution trigger. The Evolution trigger is top of the line. I received good service from SSS, rifle was returned in less than a month. All work needs to be coordinated with Lisa before you send them a rifle. They won't even accept your rifle without a repair number.

My trigger is at least as good as I hoped for. As I received it from SSS it breaks at a very clean crisp 3 oz. with no play at all, either before or after the pull. It is very consistent, breaks exactly the same every time according to my trigger gauge. SSS says that it can be adjusted even lighter. All in all I'm very pleased and believe that I have the best target trigger available for a Savage. I believe that it is as good as a Jewel trigger, matter of fact it looks to me like it is probably made by Jewel.
PS. There is no safety anymore. This model is strictly for a target rifle, although they do have good triggers available for hunting rifles. Just nothing that breaks at 2-3 oz.
