For those that may not know about it, or forgotten about it The Handloader magazine Is a nice addition to the data manuals, and reloading books. It also covers guns of all kinds new and old along with conversions, collectibles and hunting. For the non hunting shooter like myself this is a good choice, which you know that every issue will have reloading content in them Handloader magazine

This is a recent give away for extending your subscription I have played the dvd on advance handloading it is set up with nice chapter headings. and it cover the subject matter well and doesn't bury you under to much tech. I haven't loaded and opened it yet. But other are general PDF format versions of the 2014 year of their magazines on the ipad or phone or computer. Makes it nice to take it with you and read in waiting rooms with out the hasssles of "THOSE PEOPLE" bothering you every other minute!

If you haven't checked them out do it soon.

Disclaimer:
I have no interest in the magazine other then being a satified subscriber and spreading news of good info for handloaders.

I have been a subscriber to both the Handloader and Rifle magazines since their introduction.
The old timers like Elmer Keith are fun to read.
BTW - have all copies from intro to today...

It's always amazing to me the calculations that were done by hand or perhaps a slide rule in the early issues. Ballistic Coefficients, Greenhill Formulas, Calculations for drop rates, Muzzle energies etc. might run 3 pages long. Some of the theories put forth were proven to be spot on as computers came into the world. A few were disproved too but the dedication and passion for a hobby in it's infancy is impressive. RD

I've always been a fan of Wolfe Publishing. Rifle and Handloader are the top of the heap.

Haven't been on this forum in a while but I like to check out the section on books since that is a weakness of mine.  OP mentioned the DVD on Advanced Handloading.  I bought that DVD and another titled "Casting Premium Bullets For Handguns" at the Wolfe booth at the NRA convention .  I was a little disappointed in the casting DVD in that it really didn't go into as much depth on casting as I had hoped.  Most everything on the DVD is covered in basic instructions on casting.  Also, handgun bullets don't require as much attention to details as rifle bullets.

This criticism is probably unwarranted since I don't compete and put most of my casting care into rifle bullets.  For the most part I tumble lube handgun bullets and don't use gas checks on bullets loaded in light loads.

I also have a complete collection of Handloader but acquired my early issues by mining Ebay several years ago.  Couldn't afford to build the collection that way now.

My old 3 ring binders have a pocket in the front and rear of each one. I think I have a Handloader issue in each pocket that has articles on the cartridges inside the binder. I have found some very good loads in the pages of the magazine and upon testing they have always proven out to be "as advertized."

I've gotten sub a couple different times. Kind of like In Fisherman mag, lots of dry info. Not very entertaining though. I guess you have to like manuals. I had one manual, I gave it to SIL, when I set him up for reloading.
