Yes free!
Lots of titles and genre's. Although rather few titles concerned with hunting.
Quite a few fictional and non-fiction accounts of the wars.
Assuredly something for everybody! Again, all 100% legal and at zero cost (with the excepting of the electricity needed to download the zipped MP3 files, iTunes format also available)!

At the main page glance over to the right and click on the "Advanced Search". Then scroll down to, Category/Genre: and click on the drop-down menu button and select your favorite category.

Great story, lots of action very well written and Richard Kilmer is one of the best readers!

Guncrank, My sister was a professionally trained Radio/TV announcer. In her spare time she used to record books for use by the blind. I don't recall what her professional name was. I suppose it's possible that she may have recorded some of these. RD

RD,

Well she certainly has my gratitude as all the readers are volunteering their time and talent in order to make Librivox the great site it has become!

Over the last year or so I've actually come to enjoy my 45 minute commute to and from work thanks to quite a few good books I've downloaded. Additionally I've set up a MP3 player in the shop and now listen while prepping brass and other tedious tasks!

I have a ride of between 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 and a half hours, depending on traffic, each way to the farm. Seems like an audio book would be the ticket. Might also try a book or two on the tractor while mowing. Thanks for the heads up.

Always wanted to read the Chronicles of Julius Cesar.

Rapier,

I recently finished listening to the "Bear Creek Collection" volume's 1 & 2. They are highly recommended! Absolutely more fun than anyone should have while driving!

Summary...
Breckinridge Elkins is the roughest, toughest, fastest-shootin', hardest-fightin' feller in the Bear Creek settlement, and probably in the entire Humbolt Mountains. As he travels further from home, he single-handedly takes on outlaws, settles (and starts) feuds and tries his hand at romancing the girls. He also discovers a lot of strange customs among other folks, such as building houses out of boards and wearing clothes that ain't buckskins. Set in Nevada during the late 1800's, this collection of stories is a great rollicking romp through the American frontier as seen through the eyes of one of the most enjoyable characters created in the history of tall tales.
