I have just completed a 5 month process to have the cataracts removed and lens implanted.
Yesterday, I picked  up my new glasses, as I have mild astigmatism, I still need a bit of correction.
I now test at 20-15, corrected.

Had it about three years ago, I'm setup like Ronald Reagan was...left eye focus close, right eye for far vision. I wore glasses/contacts since I was about eight, was great not to need them anymore. Still doing OK without them.

While mine aren't quite "ripe" yet, I tried the mixed focus contacts last year.  I first tried the multi-focus and then left close, right far.  Neither worked for me, Dr. said some don't adjust to it.

I'm glad, I tried it out, before having eyes done.  It wasn't that expensive to try first, ($45 for extra box of contacts) and I would suggest that route, before doing it perm.

I considered the mixed lenses, but just being lopeyed in the time between having the first done and the second, I knew I did not want that.
I made the mistake of trying the no line glasses, wore my neck out trying to find what part of the lens I was supposed to be looking out of.
Being an electrician and doing a lot of overhead work, I tried occupational bifocals, those things where you look through the center and have near vision cuts on both top and bottom, did not make a month until I went back to regular bifocals and just got a pair of $10 reading glasses for overhead work.
I am used to normal vision and like my depth perception.

Wearing corrective lenses sure messed up my depth perception. My shotgun scores went down to the point that I got disgusted and quit shotgun shooting. My duck and dove hunting buddy moved so I quit that also. I'm sure that progressing age was also a factor, but vision problems was the main factor, at least in my case. Currently don't even have plans to set-up my Mec loader. I'll probably be selling all my shotgun stuff very shortly.
