Whether the country collapses or the economy makes tobacco way too expensive, how are you going to deal with the situation?

Classic self-curing problem:wink:
11 years ago I stored tobacco seeds with my Y2K stuff but had no idea how to make cigarette papers:lol:

Prolly just quit, although I do keep a good supply on hand. Growing is always an option, but curing can require more of a learning curve than an addict can afford. Pipes have been around longer than cigarettes.

In a real SHTF situation the last thing I want to have deal with is fiending for a butt.

I have seen people use a lot of different things to roll cigarettes: newspaper, toilet paper, etc. You do what you need to do to satisfy an adiiction. Those that put addictions before the 3 B's will have a tough go of it.

YMMV

Quit 13 July,'76 on a mountain at Philmont NM with my scout troop. At today's prices I will have saved about $50,000. Am at retirement age and still working fairly hard-getting lazier in my older age.
If I were still a smoker I would not support the gub and tobacco barons. I would grow, cure, and manufacture my own. It is easy to grow and cure. That is if one still wanted to commit slow suicide with the "coffin nails".

7:30 PM April 16th, 1999 was the last time I will smoke. Best thing I ever did!

Too bad I hadn't listened to people of the evils of it.
Now, between the RA and COPD (from smoking) I can not shoot as well, hike like I could or do anything as well. I get out of breath so easily and muscle tone is also affected.

Take it from me....no pleasure you might get from smoking is worth the "payback" it will plant on you sooner or later.

Have a good 'un TCG

I quit smoking when i was around 14....It made my arse hurt:daddy:

my great grandpa smoked lucky strikes non filter till he died of old age 94 years old

many packs a day....

I think it is all the crap that is in the mix and may not be just the fresh tobacco that harms you...and the filter thing..what are those made of Roll your own and pass on the filters just roll smaller ones....

Better yet make a camp fire and roast something on a stick while you stand down wind...I dont know makes my behind hurt just thinking about it.

Swamprat, I went through similar just on the other end when i was 16.
Nope didnt stop me, just made me craftier, so i wouldnt get caught.
Whilst it is fantastic that you have made this stand...If he wants to smoke he will. ( I did ) and he will quit when HE wants to (I did that too).
Unfortunatly the more you push for him quit, the more he wont. I am sure you remember how to be a young strong willed young man(child) ....
Just a thought mate,
Mick

That is what my wife told me..she smoked for many years....Me on the other hand,,

no way ,,,when i would get a thrashing from doing wrong it was a country thrashin' the old man's favorite move was the choke hold then you pass out,,if you wake up on the groung crying then it is cowboy boots repeatedly to the face , neck and head.

You would have to ball up and just hold in the crying ,take it like a man...i would be bleading all over everything,,,but i was quiet ,then he quit and went to watch T.V.

We have a senior ditch day in high school here..every senior ditches and most teachers go home , because they have no students....BUDDY i was in school, I gaurantee it.

Them country thrashin's make you really smart....MY kids dont get them though..

My friends got beat on by their parents .but not like that, they told me that my dad was mean, and they dont want to get on his bad side....

I quit back in '08 and haven't looked back.

'Sides, when you smoke in the bush, everyone for miles knows where you are and can put one through you. Gunny Hathcock tells stories of how he identified men by the fact that they were smoking, LONG before he actually made audio or visual contact.

Was driving home the other day from work....started to smell cigarette smoke, which is odd because both my wife and myself have never smoked.  Looked to my right and the lady in the car next to me was smoking!!!  Her window as down, mine wasn't (figure it was coming in via the vents).
  That's a POWERFUL smell.........

Guess the new question is: Will Obamas almost 100% tax on cigarettes cause people to quit and cause him to raise taxes on other unsuspecting citizens because of lost revenue.
