I have been having lots of problems when I try to go to different sites. HB has been the biggest problem. We have checked HB, my computer and internet provider.

Quite by accident found that Google Chrome was my problem. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Worked like a charm, for a while. Worked with it some more and found that if I reset my settings in Chrome, works good but after a while not so good.
Any problems with Firefox for getting into HB.

Edge browser not any better than Chrome. Thinking/wanting to find something better. Thinking of Firefox.
I had Firefox on a previous computer and Firefox had conflicts with some sites so I went with Chrome.

My problems started with new Laptop earlier this year and Windows 10.

Yeah there has been lots of problems with Windows 10. The current version of Firefox seems to have lot of lag for me. I haven't been having a problem with chrome until recently on my laptop. Every time I open the browser I get a black screen. The only way I am able to fix it is to go into the more tools and the task manager in chrome and as soon as that loads the picture comes back. You can give opera a try. I used that one for a little while it's more of a stripped down version of chrome. But I'm not sure they are even updating that one anymore.

Thanks Bill.
I have Linux Unbuntu on my desktop. Works good.
Also thinking Unbuntu for my laptop and getting rid of Windows 10.
Sounds like Firefox might not be the fix.
Right now I get good response but in a few days the lag time keeps getting longer.

I have used Firefox for HB but it's been quite awhile. I don't recall any issues. I only use Windows for work but have found that you need to run a couple browsers. Chrome handles just about everything I encounter but I occasionally have to switch to Internet Explorer when I run into something that Chrome doesn't handle. For personal use, I avoid Windows all together and use various Apple products. I'm not a Windows fan.

I have firefox on a W7 box and on a W10 laptop. No troubles with either one.  The only thing I use IE for is very specific Windows uses, like updates.

I hear tell that Chrome is not exactly the safest browser compared to any others. Dunno, I have no experience with it, but given Google's reputation for intrusiveness, I will avoid Chrome.

Firefox with windows 10. Liked it a lot better with Win 7. Still, only a few small problems.

If your running a Linux platform you should use the Mozilla browser. It's hard to beat. And any of the modern browsers shouldn't have any issues with this site, as it's pretty basic.

That one does have a 8 year lag time. Should be ok in 19 days.

Yeah but the damage it does on the way out is pretty extensive.

I look at it this way. It's like whacking your thumb really hard with a hammer. It's going to hurt like hell every time you bump it for the next 19 days. Then the pain will subside briefly (as we think that finally it's over). Until the thumbnail falls off. Then it's going to hurt like hell again for a while (As the true depth of Obama's incompetency is uncovered and we realize how bad it was) Then the nail grows back (and everything that was screwed up is resolved) and we get some sense of normalcy back again. Now isn't that a lovely thought?

I have been trying to post on HB all morning with no success. I was on my desktop with Linux and Firefox.
I updated Linux and Firefox with no success.
Connection to HB kept failing with a note saying that HB server was taking too long.
Connection to Midway was fast and good.
I am on my laptop with Windows 10 and Chrome.

Well this worked well and reasonably fast.
So I have no idea where to go and what to do.
If Chrome slows down again on laptop, I'll try FireFox.

edit: where to go in relations to desktop. No hurry on that.
The desktop is way faster than my 1 year old laptop.

I've been using firefox for several years. I have Explorer installed also, and have tried chrome and the new edge (it can't hold an edge to any of the others, it totally sucks).

Firefox is slow to upload posts here on HB. Nowhere else though.

Just uploaded a short post using edge; took almost 20 seconds, about the same as firefox.

OY, you are being charitable, it's worse than that.  I have W10 on my laptop, and have stripped that travesty out.  (Along with all the rest of the "sharing" software.  I don't like clouds in my life.)

I'll try the other.

Anybody using Apple computers having problems?
