I just happened to hit a link that brought me to this forum. I have been reloading shotgun shells for about 45 years and started loading metallic about 20 years ago. Retired now and doing more shooting and loading. Have and old Lyman (orange) turret press which has gotten pretty loose. Looking for recommendations on a new one. I load about a dozen or more rifle cals and just about to start with a Dillion on handgun brass.

Welcome to the bench. There are lots of good presses, what are you looking for? Turret, O-frame? You can't beat a RockCrusher for rifles. Good luck

I am really looking for a turret. I just ordered the Lyman T-Mag2. It got pretty good reviews. I looked at the Redding but it was another $100 and didn't see the value difference. I have been loading on my old one a long time and the turret rocks when the shell goes in. Can't be the best...It has paid for itself.

I am from the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. I don't load huge volumes of shells, but I load, 223, 22-250, 243, 270 308, 300WSM, 300WM, 338WM, 350RM, 30-06. I load all gauges in shotgun (not 10 sorry) with a Spolar. I plan to start loading handgun loads, starting with the 9mm. I plan to buy a Dillion 650 in the next few weeks. I winter in Fountain Hills, AZ (great shooting area) and visited Dillion and Timney in the Scottsdale/Pheonix area a couple of weeks ago to check them out.

On the more personal side, I sold most of my businesses to my son about a year and a half ago and sort of retired. I brought my son up shooting skeet and he we a 1st Team All-American for a few years and Co-Captain one of those years. He now has kids (I have 5 grandsons - no girls) so that gives me to new jobs - getting them into shooting and loading so it is affordable. I love to shoot new clubs and we travel by motorhome so I check every area for a public club when we are on the go. Hope that isn''t TMI...:flush:

Box up that Lyman press and send it back to them. Bet you they'll get it working flawless again.

Welcome aboard.
Recommend a Redding press, turret or single-stage your option. The best press being made in the US. Not the cheapest. Same for dies.
