Who needs to wait for deer season? Vacuum pack your steaks and they are just as fresh 9 months later as the day you shot it.:thumbs:

Supper tonight: Backstrap wrapped with bacon, grilled peach halves and roasting ears. Baked potatoes round out the meal, along with some whipped cream for the peach halves.

Gosh, I wonder what the rich city-folk are choking down tonight.

I made sure they were taken care of right off the grill. I guess you didn't get the memo about bringing the drinks to supper, so we just did without. Sorry you missed out.:wink:

Oh, and thanks. Blew me away. Somebody other than me, Mama and the dog thinks I'm OK:lol:

It's pretty darn tasty, have you ever butterflied one and stuffed it with cream cheese and jalapeños? It's pretty good. If you like a little kick.

Btw that picture is making me hungry!

Grilled peach halves, never had that. Guess that's the next thing on my list when I can find some good ripe ones. Don't find them too often here in Kentucky.

Never had grilled peach halves, that's a new one for me. I like my bacon wrapped loins marinated in teriyaki before grilling. My kids grew up thinking that was steak.

I can answer your question about the city folks dinner. Chinese carry out.

@cylinderman and Ozark Ed

You need to try them at least once. Get ripe ones and halve them. Smear some vegetable oil on 'em and grill them cut side down over indirect heat until done. They should be very soft and well done before taking them off. With cream (whipped or not, or Ice cream :wink:) they are kinda like peach pie without the crust.

Oh Ed, Chinese take-out is just another democrap ruse to change us to a new world order. :lol::lol:

Sure, but many leftovers are better with age. Just heat them up gently to a slow simmer.:lol::lol:

Do you vacuum seal when you freeze those steaks?

I use a "Food Saver" plastic bag vacuum sealer on all my venison & with no air it keeps much longer.
