Thanks Big Joe. I use 2-to-1 ratio of cornmeal to flour for fish. Add some salt and maybe other seasoning as the mood moves me.
Salt the fish and let sit for 5-10 min, roll/toss in meal mixture, let sit for a few minutes if possible, then into deep 350* oil, preferably peanut oil. Cook til done.

Oh yeah. I have a 16" dutch oven to fry in and also a Lodge rectangular fish fryer. They will both cook a bunch of fish at a time, Or chicken, or chicken-fried steak, or fries.....dang, getting hungry here.

Just never thought of cornmeal in my gravy before; will have to try that.
