Since the 60s many of my friends in law enforcement and other similar services have used the HiPower because it was better than their service revolvers and the Browning design was the most reliable of the 20th century.
Of the 5, one has been a match pistol, two have been Browning of America standard pistols, one was a modern police issue and the current one is a basic military model with a military finish that has adjustable sights on it.
I have never heard of a miss fire with a well maintained Hi Power, maybe others have, but this was the pistol of choice with many body guards for a very long time. Now some p[olice departments don't want their officers walking around cocked and locked, it is a really great pistol. If any one has been properly trained with this pistol, their is never a problem with how it is carried.
I have an FEG clone which I pick up years ago for next to nothing. Had to be less than $100 due to rules impose by the family budget. I never been able to part with it because as soon as I pick it up it becomes an extension of my hand. The maintenance, operation & sighting is intuitive and natural.
Browning was a genius.

I just shot mine today! Cool Gun! It is chambered in .40S&W and has the camo finish. So much fun! Thanks for reminding me to get it out of the safe and putting it to use defending myself from that tin can!
