Since we don't have a BS thread I didn't know where to put this so here it is...

I am so tired of a couple of suppliers that feel the need to send me an email every single day hawking the same thing they were hawking the day before. I made one purchase from Freedom Munitions and one from Cheaper than Dirt months ago. Ever since I get an email a day (SPAM) hawking the SOS so today I finally had enough and went to both sites and deleted my accounts and emailed them to stop it already! Right away I get two emails asking why I withdrew from their mailing list. They no doubt didn't read my complaint. If you want to make sure I never make another purchase from your site just send me an email a day with the same junk as you sent me the day before. What kind of market research leads these and other dealers to assume that if they keep bugging me I will buy something, needed or not, just to shut them up? To those that use this Marketing tactic, GIVE IT A REST FOR GOD"S SAKE!
<Rant Off>

i find midway's once or twice a day emails annoying. but i have them auto direct to a separate folder in my email. that folder does not sync to my phone so im not getting email alerts 30 times a day.
i suggest this course of action for anyone who wants emails for coupons but dosnt shop every day.

I couldn't stop linkedin with my comcast account so I changed my email address to my yahoo account. Then I marked them as spammers and now when I get their emails they go straight to the spam folder. I never see them. (although yahoo sucks for their liberal way to the left biased news and I try not to go there)

Most, ( I really think all ) email systems have "rules". Some call them "filters". You can set it up to automatically delete any email that comes in from any address.

Thanks folks, I am pretty good with computers and email controls. I just retired after 35 years from a major Defense contractor as a Design Engineer and worked with 3-D modeling software for the last 15 years and computers since DOS OS was king but the point I was trying to make was that a company, any company that believes an email ambush is an effective marketing approach is sadly mistaken at least when it comes to me. I do a great deal of internet shopping and most of it is shooting related. I only have a problem with the two suppliers I named and maybe one more but the rest seem to get it. I'm fine with a monthly email especially if the company is introducing some new technology or reloading gadget but an email everyday that is the same junk as the one from yesterday with maybe a change in background color? With Cheaper than Dirt I have even gotten two in one day and the only thing I ever bought from them was a charging handle for my Colt Delta AR-15 and the part they sent me looked like it was machined using a dull hacksaw and a chisel. It not only didn't fit it was just a POS, I promptly returned it and that was back in August. That's when the Nigerian Lottery style marketing emails started with them and I finally put a stop to them the other day. I have my SPAM settings on High and know how to block any address I want to but why would anyone think this is a good marketing plan? And why would they hire a pimple faced geek with mass email software and consider that a marketing department? Well I think I have said enough on this subject so I will stop monitoring this thread as I have gotten it off my chest. I just hope someone from CTD reads this thread and shows it to their CEO.
Thanks
