The biggest gathering of super accurate rifles and world's top accuracy experts are at the annual benchrest SuperShoot, held May 21-24. A good time to come and watch and learn will be May 17-20 (This coming weekend) when rifles and ammo are being tuned by some 300 of they world's top marksmen, rifle builders and reloading experts. It's held at Kelbly's Rifles range in north central Ohio. (Akron area) google Kelbly's Rifles for directions. Be sure to bring plenty of cash because there are accuracy accessories and gadgets there you can't find anywhere else.

Well the SuperShoot has come and gone and I was there to see it. As always there were fantastically accurate rifles on the firing line and some of the world's top marksmen. (The
Russian team was there) One of the highlights was a 200 yard five shot group that measured a tiny .098" (less than tenth of an inch. Fired with a 10.5 lb. light varmint class rifle. The overall winner was a guy in his 70's and another shooter in his 70's won the 200 yard light varmint agg. with a series of groups that averaged well under a half inch, and he did it in gusty, switching winds. Which goes to show that shooting is a sport where us older fellows can compete and win. Attached is a photo of the well centered .098" group

It was fired by bullet maker Allen Arnett. I'm pretty sure he was shooting a 6PPC, As were nearly all the competitors at SuperShoot.
