Really. Everything loads in nanoseconds. I am a bit of an internet junky and none of the sites I peruse load as quick as this one. Maybe it's the lack of ads ? Great server? Both?

The lack of ads probably has a lot to do with it. Also, not a lot of flashy graphics to load every time you refresh the page.

In 1983 when I started on the internet, you could turn off graphics. Even with a phone modem and twisted pair, it was much faster.

I miss that feature.
Ahh but I did find a add on for Fire fox that does the same thing for a individual page.
Cuts every thing out except the story.
I use it all the time if i check out the Blaze. way too much BS to get through to get to the story on that site. Works like a charm.

The lack of ads popping up and flashing all over the screen are quite a welcome sight! This is the best site on the interweb...at least I think so!

As the site has grown we keep adding bandwidth. A lot of the forums that use free software and hosting usually have a lot of pop-ups and ads that slow things down. We don't have that problem here.

Basically it probably comes down to the fact that this site is 100% funded by member donations. No ads, no popups, no undertones. RD

I disagree.

It is because we are all swift, quick, and fast.

Except for this emoticon:losers:

Which if they get any slower will have to use softballs.

Of course, KC ain't much better.
