I hate over reach as much as the next guy.
They need to reach where it will do some good.

Now here is the deal with fingerprints as my take on it through a health care place.

There are a lot of people using different names to get health care.. they will toss out a random social security number.. pay the minimum to get out and never to be seen again.

Health care costs will go up if everyone is not paying.
It is just a way to make sure they get the money.

Now the MAN needs to start doing drug testing for welfare recipients.

I have had many foster children..I took classes.. Many of them to learn how to care for these children.

Children taken from abusive drug homes.
I had to take drug tests give fingerprints.
But the parents do not have to take drug tests to get them back.
most were on welfare.. not all.. some were taken from parents because the Teen lied to authorities.

Sad deal sometimes.

My Spidey Sense is tingling over this one. How are they using the fingerprints? If you've never been printed then they have nothing to check your prints against so they still can't verify who you are. By what authority are they taking prints? What database are they accessing when they run the prints? Are they taking a DNA sample too and not informing you?

No fingerprinting here yet I know of. I would say no thanks also. I can only imagine how much confusion will occur when all this gets crossed around, this is a renowned time of incompetence.

Going to have to ask my Stepdaughter about this, she is a nurse in a major hospital.

Not only can they NOT have my finger prints.
When ever I go to a medical appointment and they ask for a photo I.D. to scan into their system.
They are politely told no, but they may see my I.D. while I hold it.

I am of the belief that we are steadily being electronically fenced in.(AKA frog in the pot)

and yes I'LL GO FIND MY TINFOIL HAT NOW :sofa:

It's the new way for the Feds to get your prints into the system, or they sell them to the Feds. My prints are all over the place and I don't care, they took them when I went in the USMC. What they didn't tell you is they got DNA also. Don't worry the chips are just around the corner. I'll die before dishonor. Semper Fi

Sounds like they were ENTERING her prints into their system for later ID.
Back in 04 when I transferred from a DOD site back east to one here in AZ, when I went in to get my new access card they scanned one of my fingers and viola, there was all my data and pics from back east verifying it was me. the Govt has been using bio-metrics for years as a better way to id people.

When I was in Korea, to get into a secure NOC, I had the blood veins in the back of my hand scanned- if someone cut off my hand it wouldn't work for them as the veins would have deflated, also if I sprained/bruised that hand it wouldn't work until the swelling went down.

Seems like they are switching to bio-metric ID which helps prevent fraud like you were talking about.

Think for a moment, up until recently only criminal apprehension booking, certain jobs and Govt whatever required fingerprinting, so if they took your print and compared it to a database then yeah,I'd be wondering what is the connection, but if the are scanning it to put it into their dB, then they are creating a new xref. I don't like it either but it might not be as bad as you think... nobody trusts who you say you are these days with all the scams and fraud etc going on.

I went thru the local border patrol checkpoint the other day (this riles me on several points too) and they are now taking photos of the driver directly AND have plate readers as you approach the agent stop... These are face recognition I'm sure, two cameras pointed right in the window- one with a red filter and one with a blue. One may be infra red but I don't know what the other is.

Fraud prevention no doubt.

My fingie-prints are as rare in the system as a STD in a Liberian whore-house.

Anyone that has served our country has already had their finger prints, DNA and pictures put on file. Here in Oklahoma your finger print is scanned for a drivers license.

Heck now they have electronic digital billboards that capture your cell phone info as you drive by.They can analyze your web searches etc. The company then has you in their database and can change the billboard(s)to target you when you drive by. I kid you not.
I was sorta wondering why the billboard on I10 just says Hillary is a liar, criminal every time I drive by...and then show a big ol double meat and cheese hamburger.I guess they know me now:)

Think I'm kidding?

It really wouldn't bother me that much. I have had varying levels of security clearances over the years. Several ID badges where a background check is required and they are on the back of my drivers license. I have been background checked more times than I remember for various work and volunteer activities. I am probably on every database in the country.

But if they did ask for my fingerprints at the Dr office, I would decline saying that they just scanned my DL which has them on the back.

If you've been in the military, your prints are in the system. I was never in the military, but I worked for the government and had to be printed (several times) for security clearance. I suspect my prints are all over this country including the basement of the white house.  I've heard that any security clearance prints end up there.

Went in for a routine doctor appointment Monday. The insuarance Nazi (always spend more time with her than doc) asked to take my picture for my file??? I acquiested, but the camera was less than 1" x 1" clipped to top of her monitor. Had I said no they could have taken my picture w/o me ever knowing. No camera adjustment or flash to give it away.

Big brother arrived years ago!
