I think this quote from your link says it all: "Most 18-year-olds are focused on the future. They can't wait until they can move out of their parents' house, go to college, and eventually begin a life of their own. Rishi Sharma, on the other hand, spends his time focussing on the past..."

I will add that we need a lot more young men and hopefully women just like Rishi to build a better world that these men he interviewed fought for.

He's going to have a priceless archive to pass along to proper historians.

I once met a woman in her 90s. I ask her what she remembered about WWII. She told me she was a transporter. When I ask what a transporter did I was very surprised. She flew B24s and B17s to England from several USA bases! She said there weren't enough men so women like her just filled in the gap. Another example of the Greatest Generation.

There's a museum in Texas to those wonderful women. So many were lost.

Thanks goodness not all young-folk are Precious Snowflakes. Actually, I suspect they are merely a vocal minority. Let us hope.

Another example of the Greatest Generation. We had a lady running the department (well, that's what the boss said) that flew B29s from California to the east coast before they took them to Europe.  This gal was all of 4'-11" and 100 lbs on a good day after a holiday feast.  Crashed one in the rockies, so t'was said and went right back to flying.  She was one of those that talked little and said much, and backtalk was not taken lightly.  I"m glad she was on our side.  (They wouldn't let her fly combat, too small, but she had workarounds to sit in the pilots station and fly.)
