After one unsuccessful attempt and a second try all but gave me a nervous break-down, I was finally able to finish the job today. A big thanks goes out to mtman714 for a tip he gave me on getting the action unstuck. As gratifying as it was, if I ever want another rifle bedded, I'll leave it to a professional.

Congrats. It is far more satisfying when you can do it yourself. It's also good to learn new tricks. It keeps us young

IDK, Certain things, once they are accomplished, you understand why they require a certain level of ability that you likely don't posses. This rifle is at the low end of what I'll be investing in the future. I don't think I'd attempt this with one costing 3-4 times as much.

papajoe; I've always felt that knowing you can do something is worth all of the challenges that one has doing it. Congratulations on getting the job done. RD

My wife just shakes here head when I start making changes like bedding.

When I mentioned I was going to do it to my 50 BMG, shae said "honey, are you sure you can do this?"

I said "love, if I could fix anything that needing fixin' on a $300,000,000 aircraft, and then sign-off the work and make the aircraft airworthy so it could fly 300+ people thousands of miles SAFELY, I can easily use Devcon (since I used it in planes too) and get this action/barrel, properly bedded."

She shrugged, laughed and left me to my work. Once it was done, she saw me smiling and told me how "Pretty" my gun is now.....Arrggghhhh I just can't win! :booze:

Thanks 222, I glad you get it to come apart. We learn by doing, sometimes you get the S... and other times you get the feathers. But its all part of the great circle of life, well done.
