I was searching the internet for reload info for using Alcan-5 & Alcan-7 powders, and this site was 2nd on search list. Looks like a good site for reloading information. I have done hunting rifle loading since the mid 1960s, mostly 30-06, 270, and 7mm Rem Mag. Now working up loads the 7mm Mauser, and 7.65 Argentine Mauser. Also, getting more into cast bullet reloading.
glad to be here, new member that appreciates likeminded individuals, loves to hunt ,shoot and mainly enjoy the wonders of mother nature. have a decent firearm collection, and bowhunting and accurate rifles is what makes me tick.looking for some loads for the143gr eld's in 6.5-06ai and .300 win mag 200gr eldx's.
Not sure this is the right spot but here goes. I've been reloading for several years now. Started with .223 and have moved on to the more 'common' rounds 9mm, .380. Had my ups and downs growing up reloading. lol Crushed .380 cases being too aggressive, bulging 9mm jamming in the 1911. etc. Usual stuff. .223 has a huge learning curve all on its own. Have progressed to casting bullets (lead is getting hard to come by especially in a fishing town). Now load mostly for my 22-250 and for my 45 LC, pistol and rifle. Still playing with load data to get what I want on this one. Live in Texas and been a shooter most of my life. My dad loved guns and I grew up with them. I use to be pretty good, but now at 68 with bad eyes (glasses), heart attack and quad by pass then a stroke that same year (luckily 99.9% recovered)my grouping I am happy with are much larger. Hope I can contribute here and get help with oddities when I hit them. Recently decapping flooded 45acp for cleaning I had the pin go completely though the primer without pushing it out. Since 45acp is not a normal load for me I was wondering if this was an anomaly or an infrequent occurance? Call on me as you wish. I am Larry Mac here but go by just Mac a lot. Good to be among like minded people.
